Construction accident severely injures Fairfield worker

A Connecticut worker has been hospitalized after suffering injuries in a serious construction site accident. The police have reported that the injuries do not appear to be life threatening, however.

A construction accident near the corner of two intersecting roads sent one construction worker to the hospital. The employee was busy cutting concrete in a trench near the road when the saw he was holding slipped. The saw subsequently cut the man's chest. The three foot ditch posed a challenge for emergency crews, who had to use a stretcher to get the worker out.

Despite all of the precautions employees may take, accidents on the job still sometimes occur. When they do, workers' compensation insurance may be able to help get the employee back on his or her feet during recovery time. The healing process is scary enough in itself. The sudden increased financial burden often added to that stress causes great concern for many injured workers.

When an employee is injured on the job, a workers' compensation claim may be able to secure compensation for the employee's medical expenses, lost wages, or even expenses related to a permanent injury. Most of the time, payments may be made to the injured employee regardless of fault for the injury.

Work injuries can happen in the blink of an eye, such as in this instance, but can still result in life-changing consequences. A workers' compensation claim may help ease an injured employee's concerns when it comes to the financial strain imposed throughout recovery time or after a permanent injury.
